LOVE IS HARD

Steve Baskin is an Atlanta-based, Pop-Americana singer/songwriter. He's been in and out of the studio over the past year with his incredible band, The Fourteens. They’ve just finshed up work on Steve’s fifth full-length record.

The new record is called Love Is Hard and brings a grown-up perspective of love from just about every angle — marriage, family, losing a close friend, this divided world and on and on.

With the help of the Fourteens, Steve drives further down the Pop-Americana road with the R&B and country styles that he featured on his Mind Your Step record. Smart, hook-heavy lyrics backed by a powerful and soulful band – horns, guitars, pedal steel and rich vocal harmonies.

The Fourteens are Roger Brainard (guitars), Mary Gill (vocals), Mark Sobus (bass), Geoff Gill (drums), Mark van Allen (pedal steel).

Thanks to Lee Davis for some incredible piano and organ tracks. To the Funk Cake Horns (Alex Rodiek, Ben Davis and Wes Funderburk). To Smith Curry and Rich Herring for additional pedal steel and guitars. And to Barry Best for I Believe in You and the horn arrangement for And You Want War.

Produced by Steve Baskin and Rich Herring. Recorded by Lee Davis at Lee Davis Studios and by Steve Baskin at his Underground Studio. Mastered by Alex McCullough at True East Mastering in Nashville.
